Excerpt from The Plumb Line:
Our great magnificent God—creator of stars, the universe and all humanity, in his wisdom imparted into His creation the concept of Fatherhood and the corresponding security that comes through parental love. Parental affection is God’s transcendent container, chosen as the channel through which the Father would release and infuse humanity with His supernatural agape love. The Father’s intention was that through His Love, our identities as children of God would be grounded in an atmosphere of absolute security, one that inspires emotional wholeness. Apart from God, man cannot fully comprehended or understand God’s intention in fatherhood as He alone is the essence and fundamental nature of fatherhood.
There are hundreds of names by which God has made Himself known to us, but I believe ‘Father’ is the one that is most endearing to Him, the one that brings Him the most joy! “Father,” is the cry in humanity that reaches out into eternity to touch the One our spirit man is most familiar with and longs for! The Father’s love for humanity surpasses anything we are able to imagine or comprehend in this life. That He would love us so much to send His very best—His precious Son, Jesus, to be terribly tortured and killed, is beyond our ability to grasp fully. Even so, it is vital to our spiritual health and emotional well-being that we receive a revelation and an impartation of the Father’s love.
“For God so loved the world that He Gave His only beloved Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
Conditional love, most often demonstrated through fallen man, is devastating to the soul! Our unconditional acceptance in Christ must become the foundation that our lives are established on—a fundamental revelation necessary for growth in faith, wisdom and power, to the fullness of God. This is our inheritance as children of God!
“…that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height—to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:17-19
A void in apprehending the Father’s unconditional love, acceptance and affirmation is the chief cause of the deep wound that presently exists within the heart of humanity. This has become the chief cause for all relational problems on the earth. The soul of humanity is desperately in need of healing, and the restoration to wholeness that can only come through a revelation of the magnitude of the Father’s love for us in Christ. To know that we are protected in His love, and secure in the Everlasting Arms brings peace and rest to our souls.
“The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying”: Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you. Again I will build you, and you shall be rebuilt, O virgin of Israel!” Jeremiah 31:4
